Funeral services for Sarah "Sally" Porr D'Alessio, 80, will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 26, 2025, at St. David's Episcopal Church, 605 Polo Road, Columbia, SC 29223. Reverend William, M. "Scotty" Brock will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held at the church from 1 – 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the No One Left Alone Foundation at nooneleftalone.org.

Sally passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025. She was born in Pittsburg, PA. The daughter of the late Thomas Porr and Peggy Heeter Porr. Sally was best known for her complete devotion to children. She fostered numerous high-risk infants, owned a daycare center, served as an inspector to ensure daycare centers were meeting safety and nutritional standards and served many years as both a guardian ad litum and a mentor to at-risk youth.

Sally was an active member of St. David's Episcopal Church where she served as a member of the choir and was a Daughter of the King.

Sally is survived by her sisters Peggy Lawter and Susan Zemp of Gastonia, NC; daughters Donna Gervasi of Long Island, NY, Dorothy Zimmerman (Brian) of Lexington, SC, Bridget Quarto (Joseph) of Long Island, NY; sons, Pat F. D'Alessio (Shannon) of Long Island, NY, Bill Combs of Asheville, NC, and James D'Alessio (Robin) of Elgin; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Sally was predeceased by her husband Pasquale F. D'Alessio.
