Sarah Eckard Obituary

Sarah Mae Eckard, 85, of Oconto, Neb., passed away at her home June 20, 2025.

Sarah was born Feb. 15, 1940, in Burwell to Henry and Margaret (Hardy) Eckard. Sarah completed eight grades of school.

As a young adult, she came to live with Velma and Fred Kranz of Oconto. She helped with housekeeping, gardening and cooking.

Sarah joined the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and was a devoted member the rest of her life.

She enjoyed helping wherever needed at church, at the Adventist youth camp in Lexington for the summer camp season for many years.

She would often help sort donated clothing at Community Connections in Broken Bow.

While Sarah was never married, she enjoyed her nieces and nephews. She often provided childcare for them as needed.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; brother Ernie; sisters - Rosemary and Evelyn; and twin sister Margaret.

Sarah is survived by her sister Delores (Dwain) Kranz; and brother Charlie Eckard.

A Memorial Service will be Sunday, July 6, at 2 p.m. at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church 403 North 10th Avenue, Broken Bow.

Burial will be in the Oconto Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Camp Arrowhead in Lexington.
