Sarah Jeanette Gause, 96, longtime resident of Savannah, Georgia and widow of Jerry V. Gause, passed away on May 16, 2024.

Jeanette was born in 1927 to Thelma and James Leonard Ratliff of Saint Augustine, Florida. She was one of seven children.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her husband of 54 years, Jerry V. Gause, daughter Pamela Vickery and her spouse Ted Vickery, and Son-in- Law Mac Story.

She was employed by the City of Savannah as a School Crossing Guard for 35 years on the corner of Springhill Road and DeLesseps Avenue. She also worked part-time for Belks Department store for many years.

Jeanette leaves behind two daughters, Sherry Oenbrink (Bob), Sheila Story; grandsons, Jeremy Brooks, Ted Ashley Vickery and Michael Andy Vickery; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm Tuesday afternoon, May 21, 2024 at Gamble Funeral Service- 410 Stephenson Ave., Savannah.

Funeral service will follow at 1:30 pm in the Chapel of Gamble Funeral Service. Rev. Michael Locklear officiating.

Interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to SouthEast Hospice, 3736 Executive Center Dr.,, Martinez, GA 30907 or First Free Will Baptist Church, 5210 Skidaway Road, Savannah, GA 30414
