SARAH ELIZABETH SINGLETON HOLSEY graced this world with her presence on October 17, 1941 in Braxton, MS. Born to the late Ira Lee Singleton, Sr. and the late Havron Taylor Singleton, Sarah was raised on a 100 acre farm alongside her younger brother, the late Ira Lee Singleton, Jr., affectionally known as Junior.

Sarah graduated from New Hope High School in 1959 and attended Tennessee State University. During her studies at Tennessee State University, Sarah met the love of her life the late Air Force MSgt. Rollen Ivey Holsey. They were wed on August 15, 1962. To this union were born four children Linda Diana Holsey, Reginald Charles Holsey, Ronald Jerome Holsey (Antoinette) and the late Stephanie Yvette Holsey.

Sarah taught Sunday school in Okinawa, Japan and Hampton, VA. She was a Girl Scout Troop Leader, a nutrition educator in Nashville Public School System. Sarah retired from her state certified in-home daycare after 16 years of operation.

Sarah was known to all as a great cook. Her cheese and mac was legendary as were her big as your hand peanut butter cookies, dressing, okra, fried chicken, sweet potato pie, lemon meringue pie, and pecan pie. Sarah was very family oriented and hosted many family and friends gatherings.

Sarah was proceeded in death by her parents Ira Lee Singleton, Sr. and Havron Taylor Singleton; husband of 47 years, Rollen Ivey Holsey; brother, Ira Lee Singleton, Jr.; daughter, Stephanie Yvette Holsey and friend Mrs. Virgil L. Carter

Sarah leaves behind a devoted family; Daughter Linda Diana Holsey of Antioch, TN; Sons Reginald Charles Holsey of LaVergne, TN and Ronald Jerome Holsey (Antoinette) of Mauldin, SC.; Grandchildren Candice Latrese Holsey, Arrielle Cimmone´ Holsey, Alex Kofi Holsey, Jason Holsey Kendricks (Danielle), and Cassidy Jordan Holsey; Great-Grandchildren Veronica Zipporah Yvette Foster, Caleb Jerome Holsey, Axel Duran Holsey and Skye Raquel Kendricks; friends Edna Mae Buckhalter, Mrs. Willie Mae Kendricks and Berniece Rowe; and a host of friends and family.

Sarah has touched so many lives and will stay in our hearts forever.

Due to rising Covid-19 cases, guidelines will be enforced. Masks are required to be worn by all in attendance.
