Rincon, Georgia Sarah Ruth Dickerson Kitchings, age 84, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024 at home in Rincon under the care of Hospice Savannah. Sarah was born in Bulloch County and raised in Portal, Georgia where she graduated from Portal High School. In 1958 she married Reggie L. Kitchings and they lived in Port Wentworth for several years before making Rincon their home. Sarah served with excellence as a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Her parents, Reggie and Wilma Ellis Kitchings, and two sisters, Virgina Nease and Marsha Bohringer, preceded her in death. Surviving are her husband of 66 years,; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Ben Thomas "Tommy" and Cheryl Kitchings, John Mitchell "Johnny" Kitchings, and James Franklin "Jimmy" Kitchings; six grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Monday, July 15, 2024 from 9:30am – 10:30 am at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro, Georgia. A graveside service and interment will follow at 11:00am at Upper Millcreek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may sign the online register book at www.joineranderson.com. Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home & Crematory in Statesboro is in charge of arrangements.
