SARAH ALEXANDER MOORMAN ROBERTS

Sarah Alexander Moorman Roberts Sarah Alexander Moorman Roberts, 99, of Culpeper, Virginia, died 29 January 2010.

Mrs. Roberts was born 21 January 1911, in Lynchburg, Virginia, the daughter of Robert Lee Moorman and Mary Maud Winston. She grew up in Charlotte Court House, Virginia and graduated from Blackstone College for Girls. After graduation, she and her sister, Ruby, went to New York and worked for the Upjohn Company.

In 1954, she married Roger Edward Roberts. They lived in Silver Spring, Maryland until they retired and moved to Culpeper, Virginia. She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Unionville, Virginia.

She is survived by her beloved grandniece, Sarah Frances Puffer, and her nieces and nephews, William J. Lyle III, Betty Lacy Lyle Legard, Mary Elizabeth Stewart, Maggie Stewart Gilman, Robert Louis Puffer, Thomas Moorman Puffer, Frank Bascom Puffer, Charles Mearns Puffer, John William Puffer, Bruce Stewart Puffer, their spouses, children and grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Johnson Funeral Home, Locust Grove, Virginia. The burial will be held at Oakwood Cemetery, Unionville, Virginia, at a later date. Online guest book is available at johnsoncares.com.
