Sarah Spychala Obituary
Sarah Jane Spychala, 81, of McHenry, IL, formerly of Prospect Heights and Park Ridge, passed away 09-June-2024.
She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond. Sarah was the mother of Karl (Janice), Kathy, Keith (Susan) and Kim (Phillip) Bregenzer. She was the loving grandmother of nine and great-grandmother of six. Sarah was the youngest child of the late Theodore and Mary Neilsen; and the fond sister of John (Doloris) Neilsen, Tom (Betty) Neilsen, and Nancy (Bernie) Tauber.
She attended Steinmetz High School and was an avid quilter, crocheter, and cook. She worked for the Park Ridge Chamber of Commerce for many years.
A private Celebration of Life dinner was held for the immediate family. Her ashes will be laid to rest in the Township of Maine Cemetery, Park Ridge.

After the passing of my grandpa (Sarah's husband) when I was 8, whom I didn't know as well as I could have due to his early passing, I was so fortunate to have Sarah in my life for as long as I did as my grandmother. Rest in peace, grandma. Love and miss you dearly.

My mother-in-law Sarah was a wonderful person. She very kindly took me under her wing and acclimated me to my new Illinois home when I married her son, Keith. She taught me to cook many of her family recipes which I will always treasure. She also taught me to quilt which is a gift I will also treasure. I will miss her, but my memories of her will always be with me. Mom, rest in peace.
