"Her children rise up and call her blessed;
Her husband also, and he praises her."
Proverbs 31:28
Our family matriarch, Sarah "Ann" Stephens, age 89, was born on October 20, 1936, in
Milton, Florida, and was welcomed into her Heavenly Home on October 28, 2025. Awaiting her arrival were many beloved family members and friends-but most importantly, her devoted husband and soulmate of 48 years, Glenn Stephens.
Known lovingly as Ms. Ann, Momma, and Grandma Ann, she was born in
Milton, Florida, to Frank and Elizabeth Allen on October 20, 1936. At an early age, she chose to live her life for Christ and faithfully served her Lord through her beautiful soprano voice, by mentoring family and friends, and by working diligently in her church.
After graduating from Milton High School, she worked part-time in the insurance business. It was in Milton where she met her great love, Glenn-a Marine Corps pilot instructor at Whiting Field. Together, they embraced the adventures of military life, raising their children, Alan and Elizabeth, throughout the United States. Their life together was marked by faithful service to God, their family, and their church communities.
Throughout her life, Ann taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Children's Worship, and Good News Club. She also shared her talents by cooking for church events and singing in the choir. Her home was always open to family and friends for delicious homecooked meals. She also took part in several mission trips to Brazil, where she mentored young girls on purity and strengthened them in their Christian walk.
In her spare time, Ann enjoyed tending her yard, reading a good western or a Margaret Truman mystery, and watching her favorite TV show, NCIS. Her greatest joy came from watching her grandsons play sports and grow into fine young men. Together, the family traveled, attended Auburn games, and made countless cherished memories.
Ann's life was filled with love, laughter, and devotion. She touched many lives with her generosity and unconditional love, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and faith that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Al Stephens of Pace, Florida; her daughter, Elizabeth Stephens of
Milton, Florida; her grandsons, Jerrod Stephens and Sean Stephens, both of Pace, Florida; her brother, Francis Allen of Brewton, Alabama; and many nieces and nephews.
Active Pallbearers: Jerrod Stephens, Sean Stephens, Bruce Newman, James Seabrook, Burt Allen, and Glenn Allen.
