Loving wife, sister, daughter, friend, and grandma, Sarah Louise Timms passed away on December 13, 2024. A visitation will be held Wednesday, December 18 from 5 to 8 pm with funeral service at 11 am on Thursday, December 19 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E Indian School Road in Phoenix. Her service will be live streamed on Facebook.
Sarah was born December 6, 1969 in Miami, Florida to Patrick and Ruth Reasor Timms. She grew up in South Carolina and the east coast, moving frequently with her parents and younger sisters Sherry and Sonya due to her father's work.
She married her husband Yan in 2009. They lived very happily in the house they bought in Mesa. Yan's son and daughter-in-law moved to Phoenix several years ago and welcomed a baby earlier this year. One of Sarah's favorite things was being a grandma.
Her first career was in radio. She worked at stations in South Carolina, Texas, and Arizona. Once she moved to Phoenix in 1998, her career shifted to recruiting and talent acquisition. She worked for tech companies like Intel, PayPal, and eBay. Sarah loved working at Charles Schwab, her last employer, because of the interesting work and the Schwab family.
Sarah was active in the First Chinese Baptist Church in Phoenix especially her Sunday school class.
She is survived by her husband Yan Zhang, stepson ZhengHe Zhang, daughter in law Ekaterina Trubnikova, and grandson Alexander Zhang, sister Sherry Timms Ojeda (Juan), niece Abby, sister Sonya Timms (Joel), and nephews Brandon, Logan, and Andrew, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a huge community of friends.
