Sarah Jane Wallis
Born in Omaha, Nebraska on April 10, 1992 and tragically passed away on July 9, 2024 in Roy, Utah by suicide after a battle with bipolar depression that was a recent diagnosis at age 32.
Sarah graduated from Millard West High School in Omaha in 2010 , then majored in Mechanical Engineering and received a Bachelor of Science in 2014 and Masters of Science in 2017 at University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
Sarah was most recently employed by Canvas and had prior jobs at ES3 and KBR.
Sarah was our brightest shining light, that was beautiful, outgoing, caring, funny, fiercely loyal, and loving in the lives of friends and family. She had a kind heart and warm smile that touched everyone she met. She could light up any room and make everyone laugh with her vibrant personality and was never afraid to try something new and challenging or exciting. She actually described herself as a mix of “goofball and caretaker”. More than one of her friends told us she helped them be a better person and was a positive impact on their life.
Sarah loved Utah and enjoyed life to the fullest spending time with friends, her loyal dog Jack and visits from family from Nebraska. She had friends from many different states that also visited. She loved hiking, snowboarding, skiing, rock climbing, ice skating, bowling, rock crawling in Moab, trivia, board games, cards and computer games are among the many interests. She loved music and played violin, guitar and some piano.
Survived by parents Mark and Linda Wallis; brother Jereme Wallis and Sarah’s nephew Landon; sister Lauren and Kyle Dahl; Sarah’s loyal dog “Jack”; Aunts, Uncles, many cousins and many friends.
Sarah was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Malvin "Tuffy" and Elaine Rosenbaugh, paternal grandparents Francis and Jane Wallis, aunt Judy Rosenbaugh, aunt Anne Cox, and cousin Chip Cox and many relatives and friends who are watching over her in Heaven with God.
