Sareth Kloth Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home & Crematory - South Naperville (Route 59) on Dec. 5, 2025.
Sareth Kloth, age 42, born December 21st, 1982, was the eldest of four siblings and a devoted son, brother, and protector. He was born in a refugee camp in Thailand, and in 1987 he immigrated to the United States with his parents, Pheap Yous and Lorn Kloth, and his brother Sarun, in hopes of building a new life. In the years that followed, the family grew with the arrival of two more siblings, Anthony and Allison, whom Sareth loved deeply and took under his wing.
Sareth embraced his role as the oldest son with pride. He worked hard from a young age, attending Wheaton North High School and graduating in 2001 while also working in food service at CDH through an early work-release program. After graduating, he continued to work alongside his brothers, and together they helped their family purchase a home in Plainfield.
For a short time, Sareth pursued basic training in Oklahoma before returning home and resuming work. But in 2005, tragedy struck. A multicar accident claimed the life of his brother Anthony and left Sareth with a severe traumatic brain injury, placing him in a coma.
Defying all odds, Sareth eventually woke up and began the long, difficult journey of recovery. He spent years in and out of rehabilitation centers and nursing homes until his parents made the loving decision to care for him at home.
Before the accident, Sareth was full of energy, passion, and the easygoing personality of a typical young man. He loved wrestling, sports, and cars, and could talk about them endlessly. These interests were a big part of who he was-curious, competitive, and always ready to cheer, debate, or laugh.
For many years after his injury, Sareth continued to show remarkable strength, resilience, and spirit. Even through pain and setbacks, he held on to the core of who he was-his humor, his quick wit, and the unmistakable smile that lifted his cheeks and told his family he was still himself.
In the last couple of years, Sareth's health began to decline again. Despite the efforts of the medical team at Saint Joseph's Medical Center in Joliet, his condition worsened, and it was determined that his quality of life had sharply diminished. On Monday, November 24, 2025, he was transferred to Lightways Hospice, where he passed peacefully on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.
Through every struggle, Sareth fought with courage. And through every challenge, he gave his family countless "little wins"-moments of connection, laughter, stubbornness, and love that they will cherish forever.
Sareth was the best friend, the best brother, the best son, and simply the best person. His memory will live on in every heart he touched, and he will be forever loved and deeply missed.
He is survived by his father, Lorn Kloth; his brother, Sarun Kloth; and his sister, Allison Kloth.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his mother, Pheap Yous; and his brother, Anthony Kloth.
He is remembered fondly by many family members and friends.
