John McGee Obituary
Age 65, of Plainfield and formerly Wheaton, Illinois, passed from this life, Monday, January 5, 2026.
He was born on April 6, 1960, to the late Goldena and Francis McGee in Elmhurst, Illinois. John was raised and educated in Wheaton, a graduate with the class of 1978 from Wheaton North High School.
Surviving are his siblings, Daniel J. (Theresa) McGee, Mary Elizabeth (Sam) Travato, Michael W. (Chris) McGee, Judith A. Gonzalez, Mark E. (Annette) McGee and Constance L. Garcia; nieces and nephew, Victoria McGee, Rosa Lia McGee, Sarah McGee, Ryan McGee, Rachel Stevens, Vincent Gonzalez, Anthony Gonzalez, Elizabeth Alvarado, Joseph McGee, Jessica Carmona and Lisa Carmona.
In addition to his parents, John is also preceded in death by his sisters, Anna Marie Healy and Sharon K. McGee; nieces and nephews, Katie Healy, Kevin Healy, Eric Stevens, and Michelle Stevens.
John was employed for over 35 years as a tool and die specialist. An outdoorsman, he thoroughly enjoyed fishing any time, anywhere. Occasionally, he would go hunting, but his other favorite pastimes were watching football and visiting the casino.
Visitation for John will be Friday, January 9, 2026, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd) Joliet. A service of remembrance will begin at 7:00 p.m. As it was John's request, cremation rites will be accorded following his services.
