Loving Memory of Sava Khoshnaw
1989-2025
Sava was a devoted mother, loyal friend, and radiant soul whose warmth and laughter brightened every room she entered. She left this world far too soon, but not before filling it with kindness, joy, and countless memories that will live on in all who were lucky enough to know her.
Born in Iraq, Sava immigrated to the United States at the age of five with her family, beginning a new life filled with hope and opportunity. She grew up with a father who worked tirelessly to give her a happy childhood and a mother who adored her deeply but also taught her to be strong, resilient, and independent. When her beloved mother passed away from cancer when Sava was just twenty-two, she carried those lessons of strength and love with her throughout her life.
Throughout her own life, Sava faced many health challenges, battles that would have discouraged most. But she met each one with courage and grace, pushing forward every single day for her beloved daughter, Eleanor, who was her greatest joy, her reason, and her heart. She delighted in watching Eleanor grow, explore, and succeed at anything she set her mind to. Spoiling her was one of life’s greatest pleasures, and their bond was a beautiful reflection of unconditional love.
Sava found happiness in the magic of Disneyland, the serenity of Hawaii, and the energy of a good musical, especially when shared with those she loved. Her enthusiasm for life was contagious; she could turn even the simplest outing into an adventure. We often joked that “everyone was her best friend,” and truly, it wasn’t far from the truth, she had a gift for making each person feel special, seen, and loved.
She now joins her dear mother in eternal peace, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience. Her spirit will continue to shine through the many lives she touched, and especially through Eleanor, her greatest pride and joy.
Sava is survived by her Father, Khasro Khoshnaw, brothers and sister, Yad, Mohammed, Shaema, her daughter, Eleanor, and her partner Oscar Del Real
A celebration of her life will be held on November 8th at 11:00 AM at Lindquist Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N 400 E, Bountiful, UT 84010, where we’ll share stories, smiles, and maybe even a few Disney tunes in her honor.
