Schubert A. "Bert" Caldwell

SCHUBERT A. CALDWELL, "Bert", 86, was ushered to heaven by the angels on January 29, 2026. He was the beloved companion of Jo-Ann (Sulko) Hills for over 40 years and loving guardian of her daughters, Julianne (George) Polowyk and Jamie (Cris) Brunn, and adored "Papa" to Marc, Dane, and Eric Polowyk. Born on November 22, 1939 in Cleveland, Ohio, he is the son of the late Harry James and Viola Mayes Caldwell. Preceded in death by siblings: Barbara Hardy, Audrey Turner, Sue Conaway, and George Caldwell. Survived by his remaining brother, Jack Caldwell (Ellen). Father of Cheryl (Arthur), Bruce, and Karen Caldwell, grandson Andrew (Malissa), great grandfather to Hailey and Jeremy, and numerous nieces and nephews. Bert was a retired steel worker for more than 40 years at LTV, Mittal, and ISG steel mill in Cleveland and prior owner of a Cleveland service garage as a mechanic. Family and friends will be received at the BUSCH FUNERAL HOME, 7501 RIDGE ROAD, PARMA on Sunday, February 8th from 1-4pm. Services will be held on Monday, February 9th at 11am at St. James Lutheran Church, 4771 Broadview Rd. Cleveland, OH. Reception immediately following at the Church. Cremation by Busch Crematory.
