Scott Christopher Chapman "Chappy" of Flushing, age 57, died Saturday, July 27, 2024, at William Beaumont Hospital-Royal Oak surrounded by his loving family. Scott was born in Flint, Michigan, on November 8, 1966, to Dennis Bruce and Diane Lorraine (Dufour) Harlow. He married Patricia Bulliner on October 12, 2019.
Scott was an incredible golfer who loved participating and organizing many events and tournaments including his own creation, named "The Big Shooters League." He loved Flushing Valley Golf Course and volunteered much of his time to make it a place everyone would enjoy as much as he did. A few years ago, he was able to take his dream trip with friends to Scotland to play at The Old Course at St. Andrews. He had a larger-than-life personality, and had no trouble making any and everyone around him feel special, included, and loved. He thoroughly enjoyed life and everyone he met, and embodied what represents a great man. Scott was a hard worker and spent most of his career with CollisionRight (AutoPride Collision) climbing the company ladder, and mentoring other team members to know their value and potential. Scott could often be found doing various home projects or helping anyone that needed it, the man could never sit still! He attained the rank of Eagle Scout as a boy, and when not on a golf course, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His hobbies included over the years hunting, fishing, gardening, and landscaping.
Scott is survived by his wife Trisha; children, Scott Chapman Jr. (fiancée Jamie Shinsky), Jennifer Chapman; step-children, Sarah (husband Justin) Faber, Lisa Nowaczyk, Nicholas Nowaczyk; grandson, Weston Faber; sister, Wendy (husband Brad) Partridge; niece, Rachel DeBerardinis; nephew, Liam Partridge; step-father, Bert Harlow; aunt, Rene (husband "Al") Breier; uncle, Mike (Aunt Nancy) Chapman; cousins, Diane (husband Tom) Landers, Lisa (husband Pat) Theriault, Cathy (husband Matt) Lindeberg, Stephanie (husband Davey) Robison, Brian ( wife Kristen) Chapman; first wife Richelle "Shelly" Chapman; colleagues/friends, at CollisionRight (Auto Pride Collision); and hundreds of beloved friends at Flushing Valley Golf Course.
Visitation hours to honor Scott will be from 2-8 p.m.., Friday, August 2, 2024, at Rossell Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Rossell Funeral Home. At 11 a.m., following funeral service, a gathering of family and friends will take place at the Flushing Valley Golf Club in Flushing. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Flint Junior Golf Association (FJGA) in Scott's name, providing an opportunity for young golfers to enjoy the game he loved so much.
