Scott "Scotty" Gaylon Edington

Our sweet Scotty went to be with the Lord on October 21, 2025. He will forever be remembered by his family. Born in Lancaster, Texas, his young life was filled with love and happiness. He attended middle school and high school in Mansfield, Texas. Throughout his school years he expressed interest on technical subjects and was finally drawn to the profession of welding. Scotty studied his trade at Lincoln Technical Institute and also practiced as an accomplished welder in Corpus Christi. Through adversity he triumphed. Scotty found courage in his relationship with his redeemer, Jesus Christ and had charted a new course for his life. Tragically, he was taken from his family before he could realize his full potential.

Our beloved Scotty is survived by his mother, Gayla Young Nance and husband, Byron; father, Leland Scott Edington and wife, Susan; sister, Brittany Lewis and husband, Thomas; brother, Chance Edington and wife, Kailynn; grandfather, Fred Gaylon Young; grandmother, Janie Henry; niece, Kennedy Edington; nephews, Braxton, Zephan and Vander; aunts, Gena Alley and husband, Scott; Heather Rozear and husband, Michael; Melissa Vaught and husband James, as well as many cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 2 P.M., at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian. Visitation will take place an hour before the funeral service. A procession will follow to the burial at Flanary Cemetery near Iredell, Texas, about 30 minuets away, located off of FM 216 next to Young Ranch.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lawson Funeral Home, Meridian, Texas 254-435-2792.
