Scott Carl Edwards

Scott Carl Edwards, 69, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
Scott was born July, 3, 1956 in Concord, CA, the son of Thurman Edwards and Frances (Johnson) Spotswood. He graduated from Ashland Highschool in 1974. Scott attended Southwest Missouri State University and the University of Missouri- Columbia.

Scott married Cindy on March 2, 2006 in their home.

Survivors include his wife Cindy, of the home; a son, Joshua (Ayla) Edwards, Topeka; four "bonus" daughters, Abbigail (Skip) Scheidler, Phoenix, Elizabeth (Ross) Piper, Topeka, Dawn (John) Heininger, Council Bluffs, and Ruby (Devin) Miller, Topeka; two brothers, Eddie (Gayle) Edwards, Houston and Randy Spotswood, Columbia; one sister Mary Jo (Paul) Summitt, Columbia; 15 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild with one more on the way; numerous nieces and nephews; and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Benjamin Daniel Edwards.
Scott was a railroad electrician, starting with Burlington Northern Railway in Springfield, MO in 1979 before transferring to Topeka, KS in 1996 with Burlington Northern Santa Fe, retiring in 2016. After retirement, he would spend his time outdoors, whether it was at his house maintaining his gnomes and yard or at the many events his grandchildren were involved in. Most recently he enjoyed quiet evenings amongst neighbors visiting on the porch or at the firepit.
Graveside services will be held on December 27, 2025 at 11:00 am at Half-Day Cemetery.
