Jean Star Conrad, full of light and love, has completed her earthly journey and entered into her Heavenly Father's arms on February 4, 2026. Born on October 2, 1937, in
Englewood, New Jersey, Jean's life was a tapestry of vibrant colors, woven with faith, creativity, and an unwavering love for her family and God. She departed this world at the age of 88, after a life rich in experiences and relationships, leaving behind a legacy of beauty and inspiration.
Jean's early years were filled with the promise of adventure and learning. She took her first steps into academia at the University of Missouri, where she pledged Delta Gamma, embracing the bonds of sisterhood and service. Her thirst for knowledge led her to Missouri State University, further shaping the woman who would become an indelible force in her community and beyond.
Professionally, Jean was a mosaic of talents. From her youthful days at a commodity brokerage office to her time at a print shop, which she adored. She embraced her role as a stay-at-home mom with the same fervor she applied to her work in medical offices, decorating window fronts, and designing floorplans for construction. Her creative spirit found a home at Lightfoot Advertising and Bass Pro, but it was the interior design business in Florida that truly captured the essence of Jean's artistic talents.
Jean's Christian faith guided her through life's ebbs and flows with grace and resilience. Her love for the Lord was evident in every aspect of her life, from the way she nurtured her family to her involvement in church and community.
She cherished music. She enjoyed travel, swimming, kayaking, and even ziplining. Her green thumb brought gardens to life, and her artistic talents bloomed in pottery, painting and her handmade cards. Jean's creativity was a testament to the beauty of God's creation, which she celebrated and emulated in all her endeavors.
Jean was the embodiment of love, her faith-filled spirit touching all who knew her. Her hand-crafted cards were not just a talent but a ministry through which she spread joy and beauty. Jean's life was full of caring and connection.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and older siblings, and now watches over her younger sister, three children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughters, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In her passing, Jean leaves us with the profound understanding that life, like art, is not about the final product but about the moments of creation. It's in the brushstrokes of daily living that we find meaning, and in the colors of our experiences that we see God's hand at work. Jean Star Conrad's life was a masterpiece, and her memory will forever be a reminder of the power of a loving, faith-filled, and creative spirit.
A family directed Celebration of Life, will be held Sunday, 3:00 p.m. February 22, 2026 at Ozark Highlands Church.
