Jane Marie Rhoades

We gather in memory of Jane Marie Rhoades, affectionately known as "Janie". She was born on February 20, 1962 in Taney County, Missouri and passed away on February 13, 2026.

Janie was the daughter of the late Walter and Lola Rhoades. Survived by her sister, Doris Rhoades of Chadwick; her brothers, Tommy and his wife Janice Rhoades of Chadwick, Rodney and his wife Sharon Rhoades of Rogersville, and her brother Herman Rhoades of Chadwick, nephews and nieces; Billy, Carl, Rebecca, Amanda and Alannah, along with numerous cousins.

A graduate of Chadwick High School, Janie's thirst for knowledge and her commitment to personal growth were hallmarks of her character. Her education was not confined to the classroom; it was woven into the fabric of her daily life through her work and her varied interests. Working alongside her parents, she learned the craft of basket-making and she accompanied her Mother making many quilts. Janie enjoyed writing short stories, crossword puzzles, word games, also crochet and embroidery.

Her faith in Christ helped her navigate some of life's toughest journeys, giving her a spirit of faith, hope and strength. Janie exuded a friendly warmth that drew people to her. Janie was always ready with a smile, a kind word, or a listening ear.

As we celebrate Janie's life, we are reminded of the profound impact one person can have on the lives of many. She was a true friend to all. Her memory will continue to shine brightly in our hearts, reminding us to live with kindness, friendliness, and faith.

A family directed Memorial Service: 3:00 PM, Saturday February 28th at Oakwood Baptist Church 5409 State Hwy H, Forsyth, Mo.
