Dorothy Ann Davis
Dorothy Ann Davis, 78 years, 9 months, and 26 days old, passed to Heaven on February 23, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Dorothy was born April 28, 1947 in Gainesville, Missouri, to Ancil and Glenda (Graham) Stewart.
Dorothy graduated from Ava High School in 1966 and went on to pursue a teaching degree from Missouri State University, which she received in 1988. Dorothy taught as a public school teacher in various schools around the Ava area for many years.
On February 28, 1970, Dorothy and Jimmie Harrison Davis were united in marriage in Springfield, Missouri. After they were married, together they raised their family in Ava.
Dorothy was a Christian. As a child she began attending the Oak Grove Church at Wasola. She later attended churches in the Ava area. Most recently, Dorothy attended Ava Assembly of God.
She enjoyed traveling, visiting, and fellowship with people. Dorothy loved her flowers and going to yard sales to find a good bargain.
Dorothy loved her Lord and Savior and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jimmie in 2003; her step father, Roger Grisham; her brother, Thomas Stewart; and her sister, Rosemary Barnett.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Sheila Davis, MariLee Davis, and Jordan Davis; grandchildren, Ancil, Bruce, Jesse, Christian, Abbi, Marlie, and Tucker; her special lifelong friends, Patricia Springs, Shirley Smith, and Dolores Barnum; many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Funeral services for Dorothy will be Friday, February 27, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, Missouri, with burial following in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Wasola, Missouri. Visitation will be prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Buddy Boyd.
