Scott Hackworth, of
Clever, MO, passed away on April 30, 2025, with his loving family by his side, at the age of 51. He was born on December 16, 1973, in Carthage, MO, to Pastor Herman and Betty (Wainwright) Hackworth. Scott grew up alongside his cherished sisters Angie and Rhonda in Mountain Home, AR, enjoying snowy winters, summers at the lake, and laughing with life-long friends, including his chosen family at Grace Baptist School.
Scott accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Calvary Baptist Church. He graduated from Mountain Home High School (AR) with the class of 1992. On February 21, 1998, he married the love of his life, Michel Pairett. Scott loved Michel more than life itself, they were not only husband and wife, but they were also best friends, treasuring every day with each other. Scott had many sides to him, he was funny, a jokester and could be quite the character at times. He was also very community-minded; he loved his town of Clever. He loved the people in the community and was always supporting them, especially the kids; from Backpacks 4 Kids programs, to helping with fundraisers. He was known for coming home completely penniless after running into kids raising funds for school, sports, church, or anything else. Scott wouldn't have had it any other way. He would, and did, support the kids in his community anyway he could. Scott was caring, compassionate, charismatic, a good fisherman and quite the singer. He was the song leader at the church he attended in his younger years. Oh, and did we mention he loved to cook! BBQ, spaghetti, fish name it, and he made it and ate it. With over twelve years with the city, Scott was currently serving as the Mayor of Clever, allowing him to continue to serve the community that he so loved.. In honor of his service, the City of Clever, Clever Fire Protection District, Clever Police Department, and Larry Walker, Chris McPhail, Ricky Roberts, Michael Pairett, Dozer Keithley, and the boys at the lake will carry Scott one last time, as pallbearers, as a tribute to their friend.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his father-in-law Mike Pairett.
Scott leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 27 years, Michel, sisters Angela (Vince) McCowan of Springfield, MO, and Rhonda (Ricky) Roberts of Harrison, AR, niece Cheyenne Carter, nephews Michael Pairett III, Jonathan Pairett and Chase Roberts, brother-in-law Michael (Jessica) Pairett, mother-in-law Jo Anne Pairett, as well as other extended family and countless friends.
A Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, May 08, 2025, from 5 – 7 p.m. at Meadors Funeral Home in Republic. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 09, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Meadors Funeral Home in Republic. Scott will be laid to rest at Mt. Carmel Cemetery following the funeral services.
