Scott Harder, 60, of Elkhorn, WI passed away surrounded by loved ones on September 14th, 2022 after a difficult battle with brain cancer (GBM).
Scott was born in 1961 to Dr. Robert and Mary in WI. He received a PhD in Analytical Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee which propelled his career into mass spectrometry sales where he was senior territory manager at SCIEX with a demonstrated history working with customers in a variety of applied sciences.
Scott and Carol met while working at Nalco after their respective first marriages. They resided in Illinois for 28 years raising their children whom they put first before themselves. They recently moved to Wisconsin to spend their retirement years together.
Scott was naturally curious, and he never quit researching to satisfy that curiosity. He could always be counted on to lend a helping hand (and tools) to family and friends. Scott was the jack and master of all trades. His "dry" sense of humor kept everyone guessing and laughing.
Most importantly, Scott was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned.
Scott was predeceased by his father, Dr. Robert, and his mother, Mary. He is survived by his wife, Carol; sons, Paul (Jaclyn) and Stephen; daughter, Allison (Patrick); grandchildren, Grace, Natalie, and Zachary; brothers, Pastor Lee (Karen) and Mark (Deborah); sister, Donna; nieces, Dawn (Dan) and Shannon; nephew Scott (Kristin).
Visitation will be held at DuPage Cremations, Ltd. and Funeral Chapel, located at 951 W. Washington St., West Chicago, IL 60185, 630-293-5200, on September 30th from 4-8PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Glioblastoma Research Organization (gbmresearch.org).
