Obituary of Scott A. Holzapfel
Scott A. Holzapfel, 54, of Howell passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2024 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was born and raised in Garwood and moved to Howell in 1995 where he remained until the time of his passing. Scott was a graduate of Belmont Abbey College where he played soccer and was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He could be best described as genuine and kind, and he possessed a great sense of humor. In his spare time, Scott could be found at the beach where he enjoyed surfing. A real sports lover, Scott played soccer until he was in his 40s, and coached his kids teams. He was a true Mets fan and an absolute trivia wizard. He will be remembered as what he was known best for, being a loving husband and father, and a great friend to all.
Scott is survived by his adoring wife, Kim Holzapfel; daughter, Samantha Holzapfel and her significant other, Shawon Danser; son, Jake Holzapfel; parents, Alan and Sally Holzapfel; sibling, Jennifer and Allan Filipe; a granddaughter on the way, Jameson Jessica; step granddaughter, Athena Danser; godchildren, Emma and Erica; many nieces, nephews and extended family members; and too many friends to name.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 12:00 Noon to 4:00 PM with a funeral service to be held at 3:15 PM. Interment will be private. For those who desire, memorial contributions in Scott's name may be made to Joan Dancy & Pals Foundation, 1 Riverview Plaza, Red Bank 07701.
