Scott Kelly Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Scott Kelly, 54, of Kaukauna, WI passed away peacefully at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton, WI on August 6th, 2025, with his loving wife Shannon at his side. His ultimate loss was due to aggressive metastatic cancer. Scott was born in Appleton, WI to Michael and Carol (Nechodom). He married Shannon, his "Puds" and spent over 20 years together, living life's "Goonie" adventures.

Scott attended Kaukauna High School. However, his dedication to his work began with his training at Fox Valley Technical College. He built a successful career at Banta/Lakeside and then most recently at Menasha Corporation. To those who knew Scott, he was a "good man"-very humble and willing to assist others as he was able.

Scott enjoyed life-embracing every opportunity to pursue his passions. He enjoyed many opportunities to travel-including to Europe, the French Riviera, and Mexico. However, his favorite place to travel each year was to San Diego, CA-specifically-Solana Beach.

He also enjoyed the Brewers, fishing, playing golf, and attending the PGA Tournament and Ryder Cup. However, as everyone knew, Scott was a diehard Star Wars fan. He loved everything Star Wars and would often be heard whistling the cadence associated with the "Imperial March".

Scott is survived by his spouse Shannon, of Kaukauna, WI and 3 fur-babies. He was also a proud Uncle and Godparent, feeling that all of his nieces and nephews were his to spoil endlessly.

Scott leaves behind his mother, Carol Kelly of Kaukauna and father-in-law, Donald Graupner of Kaukauna. Brothers: Steven Kelly of Lansing, MI and Timothy (Kelly) Kelly of Kaukauna and Brother-in-law: Shawn (Adrienne) Graupner of Hubbard, TX. Furthermore, he leaves behind his nieces and nephews: Grayson Kelly, Leighton Kelly, Morgan Kelly, Rachael Graupner, Zachary Graupner, Jared Leathers, Paige Leathers. He is further survived by his loving and extended Nechodom and Kelly families, his loving and extended in-law Graupner and Steinke families, as well as other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Kelly and mother-in-law, Kathy Graupner. Grandparents: James and Joyce (Hein) Kelly and Robert and Lorraine (Vaubel) Nechodom. Uncles-including in-laws: Richard Kelly, Jim Nechodom, Rocky Meidam, Richard Graupner, Kurt Graupner, Richard Steinke. Aunts- including in-laws: Debbie Nechodom, Joann Nechodom, Carol Graupner, Terry Bruechert, and Dawn Steinke. Cousins: Melissa Nechodom, Stephenie Langner, Kevin Nechodom, and Todd Jansen. Cousin-in-law, Jim Sawyer.

Family and friends may greet the family at HOLY CROSS CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer St. Kaukauna, WI 54130 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, August 16th, 2025. His Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Sudha Sivvam officiating. Cremation has taken place and Scott's remains will be laid to rest at St. Mary Cemetery, Kaukauna.

Words cannot express our gratitude to Scott's Cancer team-Dr. Abbi, Dr. Starr, Megan Grimm, APNP and the caring nurses and other supportive staff at the Ascension Cancer Center-Appleton.

Exceptional support was also provided during Scott's time at Ascension Hospital by the Nurses, CNA's, other nursing staff as well as Compassus Hospice. Thank you, truly, for your unwavering loving care of Scott during his last moments.
