Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ottman Funeral Home - Cherry Valley on Nov. 20, 2025.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Scott Kolstad, age 71, on November 2, 2025. Born to Edward and Norma Kolstad, Scott was predeceased by both of his parents and granddaughter Andrea.
Scott is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Judy Kolstad, his daughter Lynn Marshall, his son Edward VanDenburgh, his daughter Cheryl VanDenburgh, as well as his grandsons Allen, Jared and Matthew, and granddaughters Olivia, Samantha, Bethany, and Allison. He will also be missed by many extended family members, friends, and colleagues whose lives he touched with his kindness and effortless ability to connect with those around him.
Scott spent 40 years working at Kolstad Associates, Inc., the family business, where he served as a dedicated manufacturing representative for several companies. His work ethic, integrity, and commitment to his craft were apparent in everything he did, earning him the respect and admiration of all who worked alongside him. Scott took great pride in representing the family business and fostering lasting relationships with clients and colleagues alike.
Outside of work, Scott was an avid sports fan, with a particular love for baseball. He enjoyed watching games, following his favorite teams, and, most notably, collecting and trading baseball cards-a hobby that brought him great joy and allowed him to connect with other enthusiasts over the years. He was also proud to have played a part in the construction of the Penfield Little League Park in 1967, an endeavor that reflected both his love for the game and the joy it brought to all.
Scott's warmth, loyalty, and sense of humor made him a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to family, his deep passion for sports, and his lighthearted and carefree spirit. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and memories that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
