Scott Eugene Lightfield

Scott Eugene Lightfield, age 61, of Spring Hill, Florida, passed away on December 26, 2025. He was born in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Lightfield, and his mother, Marjorie Lightfield.
He is survived by his loving partner of 12 years, Michelle Labrie; his children, Charbee Balderson (Adam), Zach Lightfield (Tanvi), Amber Lightfield, and Merisa Lightfield; his grandchildren, Dayton, Lukah, Loxley, and Kayleena; and his siblings, Dennis Lightfield and Geanna Evans.
Scott worked many jobs throughout his life, but the work he was most proud of was his career as a self-proclaimed Thatch Master-a title he gave himself, defended vigorously, and fully lived up to. He spent 18 years as a construction craftsman, a trade that took him across Florida and beyond, from Little Palm Island to the Turks and Caicos Islands, where he built and re-thatched nearly 1,000 huts. Scott specialized in the traditional Seminole chickee design, a style dating back to the early 1800s. Every structure not completed by Scott himself was still subject to his inspection, and he never hesitated to point out even the smallest flaw. He took immense pride in doing tiki's the right way-and making sure everyone else did too.
Scott was a man of faith. Even when it was quiet and unseen, it shaped the way he connected with others. Scott deeply enjoyed engaging in thoughtful, meaningful conversations with non-believers. He was a Christian who came to know Christ at a
young age and held firmly to his faith throughout his life.
Outside of work, Scott enjoyed riding his Harley and embracing the freedom of the open road.
