Scott McLane, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025, at the Bay Pines V.A. Medical Center. He was born on July 22, 1946, in Gainesville, Florida, to Dr. William M. and Virginia M. (Clanahan) McLane. He lived a life full of love, dedication, and sacrifice, leaving behind an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Scott proudly served his country as a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. His service was a testament to his bravery and commitment to his nation, and he carried the values of honor and integrity throughout his life. After returning from military service, Scott built a fulfilling life and family, offering unwavering support and love to those around him.
On July 3, 1988, Scott married the love of his life, Isa D. "Lolly" Cantisano, in a beautiful ceremony at Lake Placid, Florida. Together, they enjoyed 36 wonderful years of marriage, filled with laughter, adventure, and a deep bond that inspired everyone around them. Their love was a beacon of light, demonstrating the beauty of partnership and friendship.
Scott was a devoted father to his son, Sebastian Ian McLane, and a cherished grandfather to his grandchildren, Vada Rae and Marlon Henry McLane. He took great pride in his family, nurturing their growth and celebrating their accomplishments. His legacy will live on through them, as they carry forward the values he instilled in them and the love he shared.
Scott is also survived by his brothers, Brad (Beverly) McLane and Bruce McLane, who held a special place in his heart. Their bond was strengthened through shared memories and experiences, and they supported one another throughout their lives.
The family will hold a graveside service with military honors to commemorate Scott's life on June 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Bay Pines National Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to gather as they celebrate the remarkable life of a man who touched so many.
Scott McLane's life was a testament to love, service, and commitment. His gentle spirit, warm heart, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Scott's legacy of kindness and strength will continue to inspire all of us. Rest in peace, dear Scott.
