Scott Maeser Morgan

Scott (Mase) Maeser Morgan, was a kind-hearted soul born on November 18, 1962, in Ogden, Utah. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle, counselor, friend, and to many a coach, who touched lives with his unwavering kindness.

Scott, a skilled handyman, was always ready to lend a helping hand. He lived his life guided by his faith as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Scott left us unexpectedly on September 9th, 2023, at his Spanish Fork home. His passing leaves a profound void in the lives of all who were privileged to know him. Scott was the cherished son of Kent Edward Morgan and Esther Rae Young, and he grew up among his brothers in Springville, UT. 

Scott's life was defined by love, service, and unwavering dedication to his family. After completing a two-year LDS mission in Michigan, a cherished experience, he married Cindy Roe, and together, they lovingly raised three children: Nicki, Maeser, and Jessica. Later he married Marie Smith and they welcomed a son, McRae, who was his pride and joy. Despite both marriages eventually ending in divorce, Scott chose to channel his love and devotion into nurturing his children and family and serving others. 

Scott's heart was as boundless as his spirit. He possessed infinite love and compassion, and was ever-ready to extend a helping hand to those in need. His greatest joy lay in being a father to his children, and he took immense pride in their accomplishments. Scott found true happiness as a grandparent, enthusiastically attending games and events his grandchildren participated in.

Among his cherished pastimes, Scott held a deep appreciation for movie nights, especially when accompanied by popcorn generously drenched in salt and butter. These guilty pleasure moments often occurred during $5 Tuesday movie nights shared with family and friends.

Community engagement held great significance in Scott's life, as he served as a dedicated coach for various sports in which his children and grandchildren participated. On the sidelines, he provided unwavering support and guidance, embodying his role as a coach and mentor.

His cherished role as the "Candy Grandpa" brought joy to him and his grandchildren, who knew him for the sweet treats and laughter he shared. He never missed an opportunity to share his favorite treats, including Jelly Bellys, Milk Duds, black licorice, Sugar Babies, Sugar Daddys, cinnamon suckers, sunflower seeds, jerky, and his cherished Mountain Dew.

Scott possessed a versatile skill set, excelling as a jack of all trades, including plumbing, electrical work, mechanics, or operating his small appliance repair business, "Best Buy Appliance" in Orem. Scott had the remarkable ability to fix virtually anything. His generosity had no bounds; he readily offered his skills to anyone in need. No task was too demanding or inconvenient if it meant aiding someone in need.

Scott's vibrant laughter filled rooms, and his innate gift for making others feel cherished and valued left lasting impressions. He celebrated life's smallest moments, finding joy in everyday experiences.

Scott leaves behind a legacy of love and service. He is survived by: His Mother Esther Rae, Brothers; Mark (Suzy), Mike (Susan), Marty (Lydia), Max (Becky), Monty (Natalie), Tony (Joan), Children; Nicki (Ben), Maeser, Jessica (Nate) and McRae and his Grandchildren; Macklin, Braylon, Lancer, Marelle, Asher, Cory, Bolton, and Elise. He was welcomed to his Heavenly home by his Father Kent and Stepmother Sue; Stepfathers Clair and Don; Brothers Matthew and Emerson; Niece Mariah; Grandparents; and numerous others whose lives he touched through his boundless kindness and generosity.

Scott Maeser Morgan's memory is eternally engraved in our hearts, serving as an example of joy, selflessness, and Christlike love. 

Funeral services will be held at the Stake center located at 1230 S 500 E Springville, UT on Saturday September 16, 2023 at 1pm. A viewing for friends and family will be held Friday evening from 6 to 8pm at the same building and prior to the service from 11:30am to 12:30pm. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen cemetery following the funeral services.
