Scott Page

Scott William Page, 51, passed away Thursday, November 21st, 2024, at his home in Seattle, Washington, after an extended illness. Scott was raised since birth in Hoboken, Ga., and Decatur, Ga., and established his home later in life in West Seattle, Washington. He was the son of Rita Meralyn Fain and the late Robert Franklin Page. He was Valedictorian and STAR Student of the 1992 Brantley County High School class. He furthered his education at Emory University with a degree in English and Creative Writing.
Scott maintained a love of language and poetry throughout his life, even though his children teased him as "only an adequate limerist.". His interest in poetry, music, and community led to a varied career that included English and Latin teacher, amateur sound assistant, Library Assistant, advanced studies in Library Science and Information technology, and pursuit of Cicerone certification. Scott was active in social justice, worked in voter registration, and protested at least 10 times in support for a world that reflected the ideals of equality and love for all people. And his favorite dessert was his mother in-law's rum cake- even thought she told him the recipe came from a bakery in Folkston.
Scott wanted to "wish love and peace to all, and offer my sincere gratitude for your caring, friendship, and love."
He is survived by Jessamine and Levi Page (his children with Karin Scott) of Seattle, Wa., his mother Rita Meralyn Fain of Waycross, Ga., his step-sister Jennifer (Jeffrey) Riggins of Hoboken, Ga., and numerous other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on January 4, 2025 at Return Home in Auburn, Washington.
