Glenn Paul Crooks, 72, of Dalton, GA, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025.
Glenn was born in Coral Gables, FL, on December 7th, 1952, the son of Earl and Joan Crooks. He was the head dentist at the North Georgia Health District’s Whitfield County Health Department for 14 years. He dedicated his life to providing superior dental care for his patients. He volunteered for over 20 years for the Ben Massell Dental Clinic making dentures and offering dental services for those who could not afford them. He helped to put a smile on so many people’s faces!
Glenn attended the University of Pennsylvania (UPENN) where he received his bachelor’s degree in Biological and Biomedical Sciences in 1974. From 1972 to 1973, he was part of the elite Ivy League swim team representing UPENN. Glenn joined the ROTC in his senior year. He continued his education by attaining his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Emory University in 1978. He served as a Navy Dentist stationed in Guam from 1978 to 1981. Glenn was also a lifetime Knight with the Knights of Columbus, which he joined in 1980.
Glenn’s passion was ballroom dancing with the love of life, Julianna Huh. They competed Nationally over the past 12 years, being instructed by Nelson Rodriguez of NelRod Dance Studio in Cleveland TN.
Glenn is survived by his three siblings: Mary Jean Crooks, Elizabeth J Philipp (Crooks) and Michael John Crooks.
Glenn's family will receive friends for visitation and to celebrate Glenn's life on Friday, August 29th, from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 noon at Love Funeral Home in Dalton, GA. A memorial service and interment will follow at 1:00 P.M. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga, TN.
