It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Scott Palmer, age 67, who left us too early. Scott was a man of contrasts - possessing remarkable intellectual curiosity and practical skill, while also facing personal demons that challenged him throughout much of his life.

Scott earned a degree in Chemical Engineering, where his analytical mind and problem-solving abilities flourished. Despite his personal struggles with addiction that often obscured his true nature, Scott remained someone who was willing to help others whenever he could, often dropping everything at a moment's notice to assist those around him.

His skilled hands could repair almost anything, reflecting his belief that understanding the world meant engaging with it directly. This philosophy extended to his dedicated volunteer work as a cameraman at Eagle Brook Church, where he operated live video cameras during worship services. His careful work helped bring the worship team's performances to the large screens throughout the church, enhancing the experience for all attendees.

Scott is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Dolores Palmer; sister, Lynn Palmer.  He is survived by his brother, Doug (Denise) and sister, Michele (Dan) McAnally; many nieces and nephews. The siblings shared a complex relationship through difficult times, witnessing both the good man Scott truly was and the struggles that too often overshadowed his better qualities.

Scott's story reminds us of both human potential and fragility. His battle with addiction ultimately claimed him too soon, a somber reminder of this disease's devastating power. Yet those who knew him well remember glimpses of the kind, talented person beneath the struggle - a legacy that speaks to both the tragedy of addiction and the enduring worth of every human life.

Private services will be held.
