Scott Alan Persinger

Scott Persinger, 67, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Burkburnett, TX, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; the family will receive family and friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2026, at John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home in Moore, OK, with Pastor Sammy Eaton and Daniel Eaton officiating.
Scott was born on November 1, 1958, in South Sioux City, NE, and was the youngest child of the late Joseph Harrold Persinger and Marian Ellen (Nelson) Persinger.
He was a 1977 graduate of South Sioux Senior High. After high school, Scott enlisted in the United States Army, where he served from 1978 to 1981. If you knew Scott, you knew how much he loved his country.
Scott married Monica Lynn Anderson on February 15, 1982, and they relocated to Burkburnett, TX, in 1986. Together, they had 4 children: Jason, Brittney, Cassie, and Cody.
He married Traci Clift on July 22, 2023, and added 3 more children to his ever-growing family: Chad, Christi, and Lindsey.
Scott spent the last 30 years serving his country as an employee of the Department of Defense at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, TX, and Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, OK.
In his free time, he loved to be outdoors fishing, kayaking, or tinkering in his garage. Scott made countless hand-crafted items for his beloved grandchildren and always had an ongoing project. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and it was such a privilege to watch him be a grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Traci Persinger and his beloved dog, Roxy of Oklahoma City, OK; two daughters, Brittney Griffin and husband Josh of Iowa Park, TX, and Cassie Snoderly of Burkburnett, TX; one son, Cody Persinger, and wife Lyndi of Iowa Park, TX; three bonus-children, Chad Clift of Amarillo, TX, Christi Eaton and husband Daniel of Dallas, TX, Lindsey Truelove and husband Matt of Newcastle, OK; 15 grandchildren, Kilee, Austin, Carson, Camryn, Adisyn, Cavin, Luke, Cash, Blair, Thatcher, Daphne, Declan, Layken, Banks, and Tate; one brother, Randy Persinger of South Sioux City, NE; two sisters, Susan Jones and Debbie Persinger, both of Olathe, KS, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Scott was preceded in death by his oldest son, Jason Scott Persinger; his parents, Joseph and Marian Persinger; one sister, Teresa Michalski; and one nephew, Aaron Thompson.
