Scott Alan Rogers of
Grantsville, Utah, passed away on November 7th, 2025, just a few weeks shy of his 63rd birthday.
Born on December 12th, 1962 in Knoxville, Tennessee, to William Alonzo Rogers and Margie Evelyn Roberts, Scott was a beloved son, grandson, brother, husband, father, and friend. He filled the lives of those around him with an incredible and unmatched sense of humor and zeal for fun and laughter. Scott possessed a brilliant mind, incredible charisma, disarming wit, and a huge heart. He had the rare gift of building community wherever he found himself, and inspired others with his words and actions.
Scott spent most of his childhood in Florida, where he developed his love for the ocean and surfing. He graduated from Merrit Island High School. Scott served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Munich, Germany. Scott graduated from Brigham Young University with his doctorate in Clinical Psychology. He opened his own counseling center in Blackfoot, Idaho in 1997. He discovered a passion for education and youth, and transitioned over to educational administration. He began this career as a middle school principal in Snake River, later becoming a superintendent at the Arco, Idaho school district, the Minidoka, Idaho school district, and the Tooele, Utah school district. He was a vocal advocate for the students and very involved in the individual schools. After many years, he stepped down from being a superintendent with the desire to spend more one-on-one time with students and make a meaningful, individual impact. He went back to be a principal at Bluff Ridge Elementary, finishing his full and successful career at Tolman Elementary. He loved being able to tease and joke with students and teachers, often coming up with the most creative skits or performances that imbued a bright vitality into the schools and students. He had a flair for the imaginative and expressive, taking on different personas complete with costuming and voicing. This made him incredibly memorable to all the staff and students he came in contact with.
Scott met his sweetheart Holly at BYU and they were married May 1st, 1985 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Scott was passionate about music and was an incredibly gifted musician. He could play multiple instruments (drums, bass guitar) and was always singing his favorite rock songs. He loved to perform, and spent several years thriving while playing with his band SOR (Superintendents of Rock). He excelled in this environment. He especially loved to play and sing with his son, Jake. His music and singing filled the days of his family's lives like a personal soundtrack.
He was very passionate about karate, and opened his own karate school in Blackfoot, Idaho. He taught his wife and all of his children.
He enjoyed going to concerts with his family and friends. He loved camping with his family, four-wheeling, motorbikes, and boating. He loved the ocean and scuba diving, and was scuba certified.
He spent a lot of time going to disco dance clubs with his sisters, and was often referred to as the King of Disco his whole life. He had the coolest dance moves, was the greatest Elvis impersonator you would ever see, and told the best and worst jokes you would ever hear.
Most of all, he loved his family. His whole world centered around his family.
Scott is survived by his cherished wife Holly Rogers, his loved children Amanda (Mats) Peterson, Natalie Hargett, Olivia (Brady) Grover, Jacob (Tyana) Rogers, Rachel (Tony) Guzik, his dear grandchildren Lucy, Britta, William, Zoey, London, Ledger, Vincent, Finn, Rosalie, Maxwell, Leo, Jude, Aksel, and Beau, and his mother Margie Rogers, his sisters Marisa (Paul) Allen and Tina (Chuck) Gantz. All who will forever cherish his memory.
He is preceded in death by his father William Rogers, his grandson Sam, and his son-in-law Jason Hargett.
His departure leaves an unfillable void in their lives, yet they find comfort in the memories, the everlasting love they share, and the knowledge of the restoration provided by our Savior Jesus Christ and His gospel. We know we will see and laugh with him again.
