SCOTT A. SATTERLEE
December 23, 1941 ˜ October 13, 2024
Scott A. Satterlee, 82 years old, and surrounded by love, peacefully passed away on Oct. 13, 2024. While a three-year valiant battle with cancer took him too early, he lived a full, engaged, energetic life and left innumerable people loving and missing him. His love for friends and family always shined through.
Scott was the oldest of three children from Agnes and Gerald Satterlee and graduated from Ballard High School in 1960, playing basketball and football and earning the Most Inspirational award by teammates. Then onto University of Washington, earning a BA in business administration in 1964, playing football and rugby while being an active member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. Scott met first wife, Louise, there and a passion for all things Husky was ignited and passed down to biological children, Sara and Duncan. Post grad, he attended the Thunderbird International School of Trade, played with the inaugural team, Seattle Rangers of the Continental Football League and joined the Army Reserves.
He then moved to Vancouver/Battle Ground, WA, area and began his 30+ year career at Boyd, building lifelong friendships. After an amiable divorce, he reconnected with childhood friend, Jeanne, and they married in 1990. Scott and Jeanne celebrated 34 years of marriage last summer.
If he was pried away from their creekside home that included resident deer, salmon in the stream, countless birdfeeders and hours of whacking brush, he and Jeanne enjoyed vacationing in sunny locales and being 60+ year Husky football ticket holders. Scott loved anything outdoors including fishing, hunting, archery and playing golf with his best buds at Royal Oaks.
His bullish spirit, deep love for friends, family and the land he lived on will forever be missed in our hearts ... until we meet again! Scott is survived by his wife, Jeanne; children, Duncan, Sara Satterlee, Mark Manning, Kathryn (Steve) Jakubek, Kristin Manning, Carolyn (Torey) Grandt; four adored grandkids, Alex, Hunter, Madison and Reed; along with his sister, Sue; and brother, Mark.
We are hosting a celebration of life on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. at Royal Oaks Golf Club, Vancouver, WA. In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation to the charity of your choice in Scott’s honor.

John and I were devastated at the news of Scotts passing on. We only in the last week knew that he was gone. He was such an amazing man! We were so fortunate to have had him and Jeannie as our neighbors for 25 years. He was the best ever neighbor, often sharing his fresh caught Alaskan fish, available to help with any project, excited to make the area a better place environmentally, and just an all around great man. We were sad when he and Jeannie moved away and now exponentially more knowing that he is gone from this earthly world. I only hope that some day, we will meet him again in an other place and time. RIP dear neighbor and friend. Our deepest condolences to Jeannie and his family. John and Michelle Doherty

I was so sad to hear about Scott passing. A true loss.
I only met Scott a couple of years ago. I wish I had known and been able to engage with Scott longer.
My heartfelt condolences to the family and his longtime friends.
