January 13, 1959-August 27, 2022

Scott Scribner 63, of Merriam, Kansas passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at his home in Merriam. He was born on January 13, 1959 in Falls City, Nebraska to Russell and Mary Jane (Suess). Scott Scribner was raised in Falls City and attended Falls City Public schools. Scott worked at various jobs in and around the Falls City area until May 29, 1982 when he was united in marriage to Laurie Lee Coupe. The couple established their home in Omaha, Nebraska and raised four beautiful children there. They were divorced in 2000. Scott moved to Kansas City area in 2002 working as an over the road driver for Schneider Truck Lines. In 2007 Scott went to work at the Intercontinental Hotel in Kansas City as a maintenance technician/painter. He later worked for Malkin Properties in Kansas City until his retirement in 2021 due to failing health…Scott was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker and Kansas City Chiefs fan. He also loved to hunt and fish.

Scott is survived by his daughters Jamie Scribner (Chris Gali) of Omaha, NE, Anna Murphy (Ryan) of Omaha, Emily Scribner of Falls City, and son Ryan Scribner (Elizabeth) of Omaha. His grandchildren are Cooper Gali of Omaha, NE, Benjamin Scribner of Falls City, NE, Rowan, and Leighton Scribner of Omaha, NE.

He is also survived by brothers Ken Scribner of Shawnee, Kansas, Don Scribner, Parkville, MO, Jay Scribner, Lincoln NE, and Jon Scribner, Kansas City, MO. Sisters Karen Trigg, Charlotte, NC, Barbara Scribner, Lincoln, NE, Connie Scribner, Bradenton, FL, Marcia Henry, Detroit, Michigan, Joni Duran, Ottawa,KS, and Sara Growney, Raymore, MO…and twenty-two neices and nephews.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert Scribner.

Service
A celebration of Scott's life will be held at a later date by the family.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Advent Health Shawnee Mission and KU Medical Center Kansas City Kansas for the excellent care Scott received during his time in the hospital. Also special thanks to long time friends Brian Bennett, Tim, and Larry at the Intercontinental. Friends Paul and Tony at Georgetown for helping Scott during his time of need.
