Scott Silcox Obituary

He was born August 29, 1964 Michigan City, to Roger and Sylvia (Vodicka) Silcox.
On May 10, 2003, he married Bessie "Beth" (Shingler) Silcox who survives.
To know Scott was to love him, and he had a talent for making friends. In 1986 Scott joined the Coolspring Township Fire Department, where he dedicated his life to the department, earning the positions of Captain and Assistant Chief. He also worked in the Michigan City school system as a mechanic and foreman. In his spare time he liked to work on cars. Scott was a very compassionate soul who would help anyone in need.
Scott is survived by his wife of 22 years, Beth; mother-in-law, Bonnie Lewis; children, Bronson (Kristin) Silcox, Brock (Dani) Silcox, Joseph (Janelle) Shingler, Kayla (Chris) Kroosyk; siblings, Andrew (Sherri) Silcox, Annette (Mike) Foster; sister-in-law, Joleen Marquez; 13 grandchildren, Dawson, Addison, Lillian, Naomi, Zachary, Noah, Belamy, Jayson, Brayden, Berlyn, Colton, Emmitt, Khloe; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Sylvia (Vodicka) Silcox.
A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, (219) 362-3100. A visitation and viewing will be held from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

I went to school with Scott. ( Joy School days ? ) Seems like he was just giving me some Trail Creek advice. He was a great man. My deepest sympathy to Scott's family and friends.
