Scott Sinnock Obituary
Scott Sinnock, age 77, of Palisade, Colorado passed away on December 21, 2023 in Palisade.
He was born on January 9, 1946 in Evanston, Illinois to the late Pomeroy and Mary Hill Sinnock.
Scott graduated from New Castle Chrysler High School in 1964 where he was honored as one of the top ten basketball players in Indiana after which he went on to play at Davidson College in North Carolina. In 1978, Scott earned a PhD in Geology at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana and pursued a career in the geological field for many years including a term at Sandia Laboratory in Albuquerque, New Mexico and later as a government contract employee for Bechtel in Las Vegas, Nevada. Throughout his adult life, he maintained a passion for research and exploration, a keen interest in genealogy and a deep curiosity about the natural world. He was an avid hiker, rock climber and collector. He continued to research and write up to the time of his death.
Scott is survived by his daughter, Heather of Chicago, IL; granddaughter, Hazel; sister, Jean (Sinnock)Guy of Cary, IL; brother and sister-in-law, Pom and Charlotte (Rogers) Sinnock of Clayton, GA and nieces and nephews.
