Scott B. Smith, age 59, passed away August 28, 2024.
He was born October 13, 1964 to Bob and Jan (Driver) Smith in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Scott had an older brother, Mark and a younger sister, Lori. He and his siblings lives were chosen by a few very important and exciting decades and he would soon prove to be a good fit. In his short time on this earth, he would experience many historical events as we do.... but this would not be exciting enough for his taste.
If it was dangerous, he would probably want to give it a try.
If it was difficult, he would probably like to learn it.
Touring with the Grateful Dead, Motor sports, fishing, hunting, snowboarding, auto mechanics, land surveying, carpentry, welding, and fabrication are really only a few areas of Scott's expertise.
The Knowledge and Experience he acquired in his time is unmatched to many.
However, Scott Smith found what he truly loved upon the arrival of his children. Along with his wife, and love Anna, his children and grandchildren are what he lived for. Billy Engel, his lifelong best friend and confidant, would confirm this if you asked.
Scott was unfortunately preceded in death by his father, Robert Dean Smith and tragically by his son, Blake Ernest Smith; and brother-in-law, John Mitchell.
He is survived by wife, Anna; children, Krystal (Brent) Gillett; Nathan Smith (Susan Heater); Derick Smith; Cole Smith; Reece Smith; mother, Janice Smith; brother, Mark Smith; sister, Lori Mitchell; father-in-law, Terry (Janet) Petersen; mother -in-law, Nancy Petersen; sister-in-law, Jennifer (Adam) Nourse; grandchildren, Rhianna, Emily, Madison S., Madison, Jersie, Faolan, Nathan, Kaya, Lucy, Damon; many nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Luckily, Scott is also survived by a long list of tales and adventures that will allow him to always be with us.
Until we meet again,
Thank You for the Memories and Support that you have given us as it will last a Lifetime.
