Scott Bradford Van Horn, a profoundly devoted husband, father, son and brother, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 45. His passing followed a very short but hard-fought battle with brain cancer.

Scott’s greatest joy was his family, and he brought infectious laughs & smiles to everyone he met. Throughout his life, his generous spirit and commitment to service were evident. Scott spent most of his career dedicated to law enforcement, where he lived out his passion for encouraging and helping others.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Kristi Van Horn, and their children: Jarrett, Adalynn, Kendra, Keith, Kenton, Kameron, and Kristin. Scott was a doting "Pawpaw" to his two cherished grandchildren, Lucas and Imogen.

Scott will be deeply missed by his parents, Linda and Rev. Richard Brooks; his siblings, Jeff & Nicky Van Horn, Christopher & Andrea Brooks, Renè & Brian Krow; as well as several loving siblings he met later in life.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Van Horn.

The family will hold a remembrance to celebrate Scott’s life in Maize, KS, November 21st, 2025, 2pm at the Maize United Methodist Church. Gathering of family and friends to follow at the Maize Community Building where all will have a chance to visit and tell stories. They ask that you honor his memory by continuing his legacy of encouraging kindness and laughter in the world.
