Scott Talmage Vandenhazel, aged 62, of West Valley City, Utah, passed away on April 2nd, 2025 after a long illness.
Scott was born on June 15th 1962 to Ailko and Maria Vandenhazel in Los Angeles, California. Scott graduated from Virgin Valley High School in Mesquite, Nevada in 1980, and served an LDS mission in Indianapolis, Indiana from 1981-1983.
He met his wife Anna Rentz in 1983 and they were married in October 1988 and went on to have two children, Timothy in 1990 and Glenn in 1995.
He greatly enjoyed sports, such as college football, baseball and soccer. When Scott was in good health, he liked traveling with his family all over the western United States, especially Nevada and Oregon. He was fond of cruising and loved taking his family on vacations.
He is survived by his wife Anna, his mother Maria Vandenhazel, his son Glenn (Eleah), his grandson William, as well as his siblings, Dean (Nancy) Vandenhazel, Michelle (Michael) Bowers, Kim (Hollee) Vandenhazel, Erinn Persaud, Patrick Vandenhazel, and Ammon Vandenhazel.
He was preceded by his son Timothy (2003), brother-in-law Clint Persaud (2014), and his father Ailko (2024).
Services will be on April 10th at the LDS church at 2101 West 3100 South in West Valley City, Utah. The viewing will be at 11:00 AM and the service at 12:00 PM. There will be a grave side service at Valley View Memorial Park at 2:00 PM, 4335 West 4100 South West Valley City.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Rocky Mountain Hospice for their care of Scott in his last days, and to Serenity Funeral Home for their support and comfort in his passing.
