Deacon Scott L. Webber

A devoted husband, father, brother, friend, and man of faith. Scott Webber lived a life defined by hard work, love for his family and community, and a heart that welcomed everyone. Scott transitioned peacefully from this life on Thursday, October 2, 2025, surrounded by his 2 favorite girls.
Scott was born in Shelby, North Carolina, on March 12, 1964 to the late Howard and Novella Petty Webber. Scott was a faithful member of Clarkston First Baptist Church, under the esteemed leadership of Pastor Karl D. Moore and Reverend First Lady Angela B. Moore. He served as a Deacon, a Trustee, Usher's Ministry, Paralee George Scholarship Committee member, and served as a Sunday School Teacher. Scott enjoyed time outdoors grilling, listening to quartet music, and old school tunes, watching sports and participating in Fantasy Football.
Scott is a 1982 graduate of Burns High School. Scott graduated from Watterson Diesel Institute in Charlotte, North Carolina. From a young age, he showed a strong work ethic and a generous heart - qualities that would define his life. Scott began his trucking career with Carolina Freight Carriers in Cherryville, North Carolina as a diesel mechanic. He was later transferred to Arkansas Best Freight (ABF) in Conley, Georgia where he worked in the shop and was voted by his union brothers to become the shop steward. Scott was later elected to the executive board by the Teamsters of Local 728 where he held multiple offices including Recording Secretary, Vice President, Secretary Treasurer and Business Agent. As a second generation Teamster after 32 years of service Scott retired in 2020. He was a proud member of W.C. Thomas Lodge #112 Masonic Lodge.
In addition to his parents, Scott was proceeded in death by his Grandparents Sam and Mamie Degree Petty; Royster and Vida Oates Webber; one brother, Johnny Lee Webber, and One nephew Johnny LeVon Webber. Mother-in-Law Essie W. Robbins
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Angela, his partner in faith and love for over 33 years. To this union was born the apple of his eye, Ashley Robbin Webber.
Scott is also survived by two brothers Lewis Webber (Frances) and Jerome Webber (Mary) of Shelby, North Carolina. A Brother-in-Law Richard Wilson of Greensboro, North Carolina. One uncle James Webber of Shelby, North Carolina and one aunt Alice Petty of East Orange, New Jersey Four nieces Paula, Charisma, Niki, Renee and one Nephew Dwayne (Manessa). One special Teamster Brother Randy Brown (Georgia) of Mableton, Georgia and host of family and friends.
His hands worked hard, his heart loved deeply, and his spirit lifted those around him. Now he rests in God's eternal favor. "Remember me with favor, my God, for all I have done for these people." - Nehemiah 5:19
