It is with the deepest regret that we announce the passing of Lynn Sipe Dedmond Simmons, a beloved family member and friend. Born on the 25th of December, 1952, Lynn has left a profound mark on everyone who knew her with her friendliness, humor, and wit.
She was predeceased by her mother, Lola Hutchins Thomas, her father, Arthur Sipe, and her sister, Marlene Willis. Their memories still carry on in the hearts of those who loved them.
Among her greatest accomplishments, Lynn held her daughter, Crystal Warlick, in highest regard. Crystal was her pride and joy, an extension of herself and her love. Lynn's legacy continues through her granddaughter Riley Warlick and her grandson Cody Warlick. Each holds a special place in her heart, and she in theirs.
Graduating from Burns High School in Lawndale, NC, in 1971, Lynn demonstrated a love for learning that carried through her entire life. This love for education was only paralleled by her passion for reading, an activity through which she found immense joy and escapism.
From a career standpoint, Lynn was an accomplished individual, having retired from the Cleveland County Department of Social Services and Emergency Management. Her dedicated service to her community was a testament to her strong character.
Perhaps one of the most cherished aspects of her personality was her famous Manicotti. Prepared with love every year for Christmas, this tradition was adored by family and friends, and it epitomized the love and care with which Lynn approached everything in life. Her sense of humor, love for shopping, and overall vivacious personality will be missed dearly by everyone who was fortunate to have known her.
May her soul rest in peace, and her legacy continue on, inspiring, and bringing warmth to those left behind including many cousins, brothers and sisters.
A heartfelt appreciation to her caregivers, Virginia Price and Shonell Sutton, and to Cleveland County Hospice.A funeral will be held in her honor at Zoar Baptist Church, 1740 S. Lafayette St., Shelby, NC., on Saturday, July 12, at 11:00 AM. The family will greet friends at 10:30 AM.
