Scott Wichhart Obituary
Scott Lee Wichhart, 55, of Mount Pleasant passed away at his home on Sunday, March 24, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Scott was born on Dec. 1, 1968, in Fort Madison, the son of Gary and Judith (Specht) Wichhart.
Following his graduation from New London High School in 1987, he went on to Kirkwood Community College graduating with an associate's degree in construction management.
Scott was united in marriage to Teresa Newman Heise on June 14, 2014.
Scott worked for Wiley's of Mount Pleasant from 1990 until 2006 as a carpenter. In 2006, Scott went out on his own and started his own company called Storm Tamer.
Scott retired on Dec. 18, 2022, after being diagnosed with cancer.
Scott joined the Mount Pleasant Moose Lodge in 2009.
He served on the board of officers for a few years before becoming the administrator of the lodge from 2018 until 2022. He earned the Premier Lodge Award for the year 2021-2022 and the Leadership Award of Excellence.
Scott became a Moose Fellow in August of 2021. Scott loved going to Eldora Speedway for the Kings Royals Sprint car races. He also enjoyed the trips they took to annual Moose conventions. Scott joined the Burlington Moose Lodge in 2022.
Scott is survived by his wife, Teresa, his son, Scott L. Wichhart Jr., his daughter, Sydney Heise, his brother, Doug (Robin) Wichhart, his mother, Judith Wichhart, along with a niece, a nephew, cousins and his aunts.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A celebration of Scott's life will be held on Saturday, March 30, at 1 p.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Friday at the Murphy Funeral Home where the family will be present from 4 to 7 p.m. that evening.
Memorial contributions in Scott's honor may be directed to the New London VFW Post 7641 or to the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice in his memory.
