Scott Williams Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Scott was born on August 26, 1951 in Exeter, CA. He graduated from Tulare Union High School in 1969. After one semester in college at Warner Pacific University, he decided that school wasn't for him. Faced with the fact that 'the draft' would 'get him' if he quit school, he decided to enlist in the United States Navy in November of 1970. During Scott's 13 years in the Navy, he reached the rank of First Class Petty Officer (E6). He also earned 3 Good Conduct Awards, Sea service Deployment Ribbon, Humanitarian Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. Scott planned to make the Navy his career, but Post Traumatic Stress Disorder from his service in Vietnam forced his medical discharge in November of 1983. In 1984, he started working at the United States Postal Service at the Sectional Center in Bakersfield. After 12 years of employment with the Post Office, he was placed on permanent disability due to poor physical health. After waiting for her for 20 years, Dorothy finally retired in 2011. Together they decided to relocate to Fresno so that they could enjoy being with their daughter Becky, son-in-law Juan and their two granddaughters, Maya & Cali.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Father Lester Williams (December 24, 2007) & Mother Hazel Williams (July 14 2024).
