Scott Edward Workinger passed away peacefully on August 20. 2023 after a long illness. He was born in Baltimore, MD in 1952 to Mary Ann (Evert) Workinger and Paul Edward Workinger and raised in York, PA. He is survived by his brother, Mark Workinger, his sister and brother-in-law, Paula and Timothy Geiman, his nieces, Cara and Rianna Workinger, and nephew, Ian Geiman.
Scott received a B.S. in Engineering Physics from Lehigh University, an M.S. in Systems Engineering from the University of Arizona, and, in 1999, a Ph.D. from Stanford University in Civil and Environmental Engineering. He worked within the field of Systems Engineering for his entire career and was the Founder of Teambridge, Senior Associate of HonourCode, and CEO and Founder of Workinger Consulting. He was also a member of the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) and served a term as President of the Silicon Valley Chapter.
Scott was devoted to his Tibetan Buddhist teacher, Ven. Gyatrul Rinpoche. He was a faithful and dedicated student and spent many hours attending teachings at Rinpoche’s Bay Area center, Orgyen Dorje Den Tibetan Buddhist Meditation Center, and at his Oregon retreat center, Tashi Choling Center for Buddhist Studies.
Private funeral arrangements are being coordinated by Ave Maria Memorial Chapel in Watsonville, CA with members of Scott’s family, and the kind support of his sangha. Donations in memory of Scott may be sent to: http://tashicholing.org/
