Mr. Scottie Grisham of the Turkey Creek Community was discovered at 4:30 a.m. unresponsive at the Spears Lane home of his sisters. He was pronounced deceased at the age of 57 at 6 a.m. at the Highpoint Health – Riverview Emergency Room on Wednesday morning November 6, 2024.
Monday afternoon November 11th funeral services are scheduled to be conducted from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Bro. Steve Law will officiate and burial will follow in the Nixon Family lot at the Gordonsville Cemetery.
The Grisham family will receive friends at Sanderson in Carthage only on Monday November 11th from 10 a.m. until the funeral services at 1 p.m.
The youngest of seven children, he was born Scottie Dale Grisham on April 13, 1967 at the former Carthage General Hospital and was one of five daughters and two sons of the late Crockett Thomas Grisham who died August 11, 1994 at the age of 66 and Ruby Leigh Barnes Grisham Medley who died January 21, 2008 at the age of 74.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was a sister, Cynthia Bryant Grisham who died at the age of 43 on January 30, 2004.
Mr. Grisham was saved at the age of 21 and was baptized into the full fellowship of the East Carthage Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are his five siblings, Linda Nixon of Gordonsville, Sandra Grisham and Connie Grisham both of the Turkey Creek Community, Randall Grisham and fiancée Wendy Sypes of the Pleasant Shade Community, Sherrie Grisham of Carthage.
The family requests memorials to assist with the funeral expenses.
