Sean Carey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Patrick T Lanigan Funeral Home - East Pittsburgh on Oct. 5, 2023.
Obituary
Of Monroeville, was born on October 11, 1971 and died on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at the age of 51. He died from the long term effects of Covid-19 after fighting hard for over three years.
Sean was the beloved husband of Meghan C. (Matesa) Carey for 10 years.
He was the caring father of Dakota, Leelle, and Leyton Carey.
Sean was the treasured son of Lou Dick of Monroeville and the late Frank (surviving spouse, Sarah) Carey.
Sean was the dear Pamp (grandfather) of Malibu and the late Dahlia.
He was the brother of Ashley (Kevin) Humbertson of Penn Twp, Tony Andrascik of Monroeville and the late Erin Carey and is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Sean was a 1989 graduate of Woodland Hills High school and served in the U.S. Navy. Sean considered Florida his home and nothing made him happier than going to the beach every day. He was employed in the Film industry as a proud Teamster and worked in Pittsburgh, New York City and Boston. Sean was also known for his concierge business that catered to professional athletes and entertainers. Everything he did was to provide for his children and give them the best life he could. They were always his first priority and everyone knew how much he loved them. Sean's success in life was because he was able to connect to so many different walks of life. Everyone remembered his name after talking to him. Sean loved being surrounded by people, loved to make them laugh, was an incredible friend, and loved turning friends into family.
More than anything else, Sean was a miracle time and time again. He was a protector of so many and became the strongest person that anyone had ever met. He fought so hard to stay alive and share his story to help others. We hope that everyone continues to share Sean's journey and keep his memory alive.
There will not be a visitation or service, but a gathering will be planned at a later date.
Arrangements are with Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Linden Avenue at Cable Avenue, East Pittsburgh, PA 15112, (412-824-8800).
Memorial donations may be made directly to the family and sent to the funeral home at the above address.
