Sean Tristan Garrick

Sean Tristan Garrick was born on November 9, 2004 at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mt. Vernon, WA. The son of a military family, he lived in Burlington, WA; Stuttgart, Germany; Anacortes, WA; Yokosuka, Japan; London, England; Great Lakes, IL; and Fairfax Station, VA. He graduated from James W. Robinson, Jr., Secondary School with honors and the IB diploma in 2023. In the fall of 2023, he enrolled at Virginia Tech, where he was pursuing a degree in aerospace engineering. He loved gaming on-line with his friends, weightlifting, rock climbing, food of all kinds (especially sushi and sweet potato biscuits), his family, and his dog, Autumn. He passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on the morning of October 30, 2024. Sean is survived by his parents, Michael and Nadia Garrick, his sister, Morgane Garrick, his grandparents, Mary Stewart Garrick, John and Patricia Garrick, and Madeleine Baumgartner. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Kate Garrick and Scott Korb, Magali and Patrick Merz, Caroline and Serge Treguer, and his cousins Walker Korb, Alice and Eva Merz, and Charlotte and Emilie Treguer.
In lieu of flowers, Sean, who received dozens of transfusions in the course of his treatment at NIH, requested that those who are able donate blood. Alternatively, donations can be made in his name to the Children's Inn at NIH.
