Sean McNerney Obituary
EAST GREENBUSH - Sean Michael McNerney, age 52, died at his home in East Greenbush, N.Y., on February 20, 2026.
He was born in Alamogordo, N.M., but lived virtually all his life in New York's Capital District.
Sean graduated from Bethlehem High School, and attended SUNY Morrisville and Hudson Valley Community College.
He worked for TruGreen Lawn Care, Porter Cable Tools, W.B. Mason, FedEx, UPS, and Amazon.
He was an avid follower of Phish, and an ardent supporter of the New York Yankees and Giants.
He is survived by his father, Michael; stepmother, Angela; brothers, Shane, Dylan, and Rory; and his aunts, uncle, and cousins.
Sean was buffeted by the headwinds of depression and alcoholism for much of his adult life.
We are left to wonder why we could not save him, or why we could not truly hear him.
His spirit may have been broken, but Sean died with his loving heart intact. He was humble, he was kind, he was gentle. All those things this world so dearly needs.
If you knew his good heart, please hold him in yours for awhile, walking with the sun on his face, and the wind at his back.
We will miss him so.

To Sean´s Family:
Thank you for sharing Sean´s struggles. It´s sometimes the people with the biggest hearts and empathy that fall victim to addiction. This obituary reflects that you were listening and I pray that Sean is now at Peace.
