Sebastian Matthew Castillo "Bash", 22 formerly of Plainview, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. A Funeral Service for Mr. Castillo will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:00pm, Friday, September 6, 2024, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Cremation services are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.
Bash was born on December 18, 2001, in Fort Worth, Texas to George Peña and Elida Castillo. He was foremost, a boastful father and loved his children with all he had. With that same affection he also loved his mother and his sister. He was not afraid to express that his mother was his best friend. As any boy would be, he was delighted, and it warmed his heart that he was able to be a small part of his dad's world and his other siblings as well.
Bash came from a big family and loved his family very much and would consider his cousins more like brothers and the feeling would absolutely be mutual. He, at many times, displayed a sense of admiration for his aunts and uncles and never faltered in love and respect for them. They loved him just the same.
Bash was an enthusiastic gamer. He would either be wearing his headset or his cowboy hat. He was also an avid shoe collector and had a passion for dressing very well, or as he would say, "I have to look fly." Beyond the substantial love that he had for his family, gaming, and dressing up, he was full of ambition. He was the most ambitious person you could ever meet. He was very passionate about his job at SERVPRO and was proud to be excelling in it very quickly. He cared for his coworkers deeply, they were like a second family to him during his time in San Antonio. As his coworkers would agree, Bash was the absolute best at mediating situations, that for a lack of better words, were headed for chaos. At almost any given moment, he had such a calm and tranquil spirit. But even with his tranquility he never passed on the opportunity to make others laugh. He was without a doubt a beautiful soul to come across, should you ever have had the Godsent advantage to have met him.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Darren Peña; grandparents, Fermin Castillo Sr., Remedios Molinar Castillo, and Gilbert and Eugenia Peña.
Bash is survived by his three dearly loved children; parents, Elida and Joe Contreras, and George and Romie Peña; one sister, Sabrina Castillo; four nieces from his maternal side, five nephews and three nieces from his paternal side; fourteen half-siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins galore.
